MUSIC: Local songwriting group formed

EDITOR'S NOTE: This story originally erroneously reported the first songwriter meeting was Thursday, May 22, when it is actually May 29.  Gazz regrets the error. It has been fixed below.

Kevin Levine of Hurricane is looking for local songwriters to join the new Charleston chapter of  the Nashville Songwriters Association International.

The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. May 29 at The Pied Piper on Corridor G, 301 RHL Boulevard, and after that on the last Thursday of every month.

The group offers area songwriters a chance to improve their skills, learn more about the music industry, evaluate songs, and network with one another on a regular basis, says Levine, the chapter’s regional coordinator.
