You think you're funny? No, really -- are you generally perceived to be the funniest person in the room? Then, get those funny bones to the Comedy Zone Charleston, at the Ramada Plaza Hotel, at "B" Street and Second Ave. in South Charleston, for the next several Wednesday nights. The contest starts this Wednesday, May 7.

Enter the "Mountain State's Funniest Person Contest" for a chance at a paid gig at other Comedy Zones around the country and a review by a comedy talent agent. "We get calls weekly from amateur comedians in the area wanting a stage to perform on. This is our opportunity to fill a need in the area," says Dennis Harris, Comedy Zone manager.

Each week, two performers advance to the next round. The final showdown is June 11. Admission is $5 per person and if you don't make it through a round, you can try, try again, if you meet the requirements. See the website below for more details.
