“Daily Progress”
BEST BET: The art of every day life and objects
There’s a free opening reception 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday for a show of new oil on linen paintings by Elizabeth Geiger, a Charlottesville, Va., resident, who takes objects and scenes of everyday life and reveals them anew, such as in her “Daily Progress." “She utilizes everyday objects like bananas, a white dish, a glass of tea, arranging them in such a way that the underlying geometry causes your eye to move about the picture plane,” says gallery owner Callen McJunkin. The gallery is at 219 Hale St. Call 342-5647.
