GuestPost: Heavenly Chains

This city has seen some recent violence and crime and it's so sad to see some of our residents afraid to set out lawn ornamentation without the need to lock them down. Here on the East End, one of our neighbor's front yard Buddha statues disappeared some weeks ago, never to be seen again. Now this. The East End: a place where angels fear to tread?

It's a shame. There are rare and valuable trees in Central Park, New York City, that are chained underground by the roots. People were actually uprooting trees from the park and taking them home.

My girlfriend calls it 'Jesus in Chains'. She makes sure she points it out to people visiting from out of town.

Heh. Here's a photo I took of this a couple winters ago.
