I love the backstreet backdoor (so to speak) histories of cities. A visitor fresh to Charleston for the first time might pass the shuttered front of the lovely Quarrier Diner and lament the failure to find an ongoing use for this Art Deco bijou. Never realizing that the building lives on yet it only comes out at night, in the form of the Tap Room out back and down below. Just follow the rainbow.
