SculptureScape: Post Office Parallelograms

I am an ardent fan of outdoor sculpture, especially those with which we -- the unwashed masses -- must somehow interact. That said, this one on the downtown Post Office plaza has never done much for me. I think partly it is the bridge-green paint job (why not paint each link a different, bright color like a string of Dublin doorways?) and partly the industrial heaviness of the work. On the third hand, here is the first time I have appreciated the sculpture with more than passing interest: the high noon sunlight casts a painterly companion semi-circle on the sidewalk, which -- voila -- seems to complete the circle.
