Springscape 1: Along the River

Judging by comments to this blog, some expatriate West Virginians have already discovered DowntownWV, as a nostalgic way to look over their shoulder at their hometown. This next sequence of photos may cause ex-pats a bad case of homesickness, especially if you live in a place that does not get a decent Spring bloom. (What is Spring like in Florida? California? Anyone?) We are having a glorious Spring right this moment in downtown Charleston -- a cool nip in the air, cerulean blue skies. Whole teams of daffodils are abloom along the Kanawha River. Redbuds and magnolia trees are in bud, adding streaks of mauve to the landscape. Get yourself back here, at least for three days in April...
